Frances E. Colburn (Beers) passed away in the early hours of Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the AO Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta ,NY.

Frances was born on April 21, 1934 to Russell and Jennie (Smith) Beers. She was married to Charles Colburn in May of 1950.

They settled in Oneonta first on Thorn Street then purchasing their home on Pony Farm Road. There Frances was at home raising their two children Mike and Patti until Patti entered school.

Frances worked to help people. She worked for many years...

Frances E. Colburn (Beers) passed away in the early hours of Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the AO Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta ,NY.

Frances was born on April 21, 1934 to Russell and Jennie (Smith) Beers. She was married to Charles Colburn in May of 1950.

They settled in Oneonta first on Thorn Street then purchasing their home on Pony Farm Road. There Frances was at home raising their two children Mike and Patti until Patti entered school.

Frances worked to help people. She worked for many years at the Hartwick College Health Center then local doctor's offices and Planned Parenthood. She later volunteered at Fox Care.

She especially loved caring for children never missing an opportunity sit for them. She also loved the outdoors, birds and nurturing abandoned baby animals.

She is survived by her daughter Patti Timoney and her husband Hugh, two of her 6 six brothers Leonard and Eleanor Beers and Ronald and Dorothy Beers and their families, grandchildren Tobi Monroe and husband Anthony, Ryan Colburn, Michael Angelotti and great grand children Gavin, Lauren and Logan Monroe, daughter -in-law Christine (Angelotti) Colburn, brothers-in-law Carl Colburn and Richard Gorton and their families.

She was predeceased by her son Michael Charles Colburn, her parents and brothers Russell, Clifford, Shirley and Nicholas Beers.

A celebration of the life of Frances Colburn will be held in October and announced on the funeral home website.
