Harry R. Swift, 85, a life long resident of Esperance, NY, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, September 13, 2016.

He was born on August 13, 1931 in Summit, NY, a son of the late Leslie and Bessie (Cain) Swift.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, and animals. He also loved antiquing, which led to opening and co-owning H & R Antiques with his wife, Rosetta.

Harry was predeceased by his wonderful wife of 58 years, Rosetta Swift.

He was born on August 13, 1931 in Summit, NY, a son of the late Leslie and Bessie (Cain) Swift.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, and animals. He also loved antiquing, which led to opening and co-owning H & R Antiques with his wife, Rosetta.

Harry was predeceased by his wonderful wife of 58 years, Rosetta Swift.

He is survived by his sons, Stephen Swift of Middleburgh and Daniel (Deborah) Swift of Cleveland, NY; his daughters, Sylvia (Mark Pacillo) Swift and Vivian (Robert) Fitz James, both of Amsterdam; his 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Harry is also survived by his brother, Gary Swift of Oneonta, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to visit from 11am to Noon on Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta, during which time his family will receive guests. A funeral service will be held at Noon at the funeral home. Following the funeral service, Harry will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery, Oneonta.
